Only extreme discomfort - Not Torture
Oh Please drown me and slap me in the head - I will surely tell you the truth. Sphere: Related Content"In fact, while the memos said head-slapping, simulated drowning, and frigid temperatures could be legally justified, they never condoned outright torture, which the CIA believes can produce bogus information."
Those, Kessler explains, are more accurately described as "coercive interrogation techniques [that] involve extreme discomfort as opposed to torture."

This is partisan as to a one party one branch approach to US government policies. So Bush nominates a old man who will back him up in the War on Terrah, to hell with the war of life the average American faces every day.

Soldiers and Technology Secure - White House Not
Army Audits: Official Sites, Not Blogs, Breach Security
From the page
- For years, members of the military brass have been warning that soldiers' blogs could pose a security threat by leaking sensitive wartime information. But a series of online audits, conducted by the Army, suggests that official Defense Department websites post far more potentially-harmful than blogs do. -
LOL interactive White House site

So person or persons from Washington DC, why are you all of a sudden reading my blog?
Just coincidence that no one from DC ever came to - or noticed my little web production for a year and a half - yet soon after my leaving a not so kind information request - series of questions I would like answered about the White House site on there submit form... the city of Washington shows up on my stats page.
My questions were simple along the line below
With the new Fisa law how long do you hold my IP address after i submit a question?
Why do you call it White House Interactive, when No One has called a Submit Form interactivity for 8 years?
Why does this site not work well on my macintosh?
Doh - Maybe im just paranoid
Maybe im not Update 8-23
The Next Hurrah -Time to Fire the White House Webmaster by emptywheel
I thought it worth mentioning that the Administration has twice made claims in the last week that their website refuted. First came Senator Leahy, who noted that Cheney's claims not to be part of the Executive Office of the President were disproved by the White House website.Sphere: Related Content

Don't get your hopes up yet. But the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court has told the government that it needs to submit an argument for why the court shouldn't disclose rulings from earlier this year on the warrantless surveillance program
Talking Points Memo | The FISA 'Fix'
When Congress "revised" FISA a few weeks ago, lawmakers gave the White House the unchecked surveillance power Bush wanted -- and then some.

Broad new surveillance powers approved by Congress this month could allow the Bush administration to conduct spy operations that go well beyond wiretapping to include — without court approval
Defense Agency Proposes Outsourcing More Spying - washingtonpost.com
"Mind-blowing," was the reaction of Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, when she learned of the DIA proposal. In a telephone interview, she described it as "definitely something to be concerned about." Sphere: Related Content

TSP,FISA and NSA
TSP is a Bush sponsored Program - It was not there before 9-11
Congress was wrong to allow Bush to gut FISA.
FISA should have been enough for Bush, they had 3 days after a tap is performed to decide if it was related to terror and get some post warrant form to a judge. In a world of microsecond management and near instant data transmission, 3 days is a very long time.
For Rove to get away with destroying OUR emails -
My Dime , My History, The US Governments Documents - we have to believe he understood a little about that RNC Blackberry he abused.
The I don't recall -Bush family... they can use email to send a message in an instant to cover their asses for hatch act violations but cant figure out if someone is a terrorist in 72 hours.
There is no US government agency defined meaning for terrorist. SO this war on terror is a hollow thing.

FISA - why its sad and the rug of light II
Headline is funny in a sad and tragic kind of way
Oliver Willis - There Is No "Please Allow George Bush To Spy On Me" Constituency In The U.S. Electorate
Boston Globe New law expands power to wiretap - Diminishes oversight of NSA spy program
Balkinization - Why do they fear Bush
The passage of the new FISA bill by the Senate and now the House demonstrates that the Democrats stand neither for defending civil liberties nor for checking executive power.
They stand for nothing at all.
Conversely, the new bill shows that the Republican Party can get the Democrats to surrender almost any civil liberty-- indeed, to give the President just as much unchecked power as he might obtain under a Republican controlled Congress-- simply by playing the fear card repeatedly and without shame

Lieberman as fulcrum to senate - NOT
Ok, lets think just for a moment... In the US attorney purge information the senate has access to , There is reference of senator Deminici making a phone call to a US Attorney's home. This is in clear violation of rules and should lead to Deminicis leaving his seat, and i believe NM has a dem governor...who would appoint a dem as a replacement. That would nix any - POWER - middle man Lieberliar - might have had. :P
